In shortCampeche, Mexico's only walled city inscribed as a World Heritage Site, hosts destination weddings at two scales: intimate, in a casona courtyard, and grand, in bastions and historic haciendas, with guests lodged in private homes inside the wall, up to 58 guests across 21 bedrooms. Houses are quoted per night; local coordination is included. Every inquiry is answered personally by Irma and Sébastien, usually the same day.

Why marry in Campeche

Campeche hasn't gone mass-market, and that's the reason it works for a wedding. Your celebration doesn't compete with twelve other parties on the same weekend for florists, photographers and venues. Your guests don't share a hotel lobby with strangers: each family lives in a home of its own. The wall keeps the noise out.

The collection's strength is flexibility of scale: from a single house for ten to a block of neighboring properties for all your guests. Large enough for a wedding, intimate enough that everyone still knows each other's names by Sunday breakfast.

We coordinate the architecture (which courtyard for ceremony, which for reception), connect you with the local team (florist, planner, music, transport) and host all guests across the combined properties. Civil ceremonies inside the walled city are arranged through the local registry.

Frequently asked questions

Before you write

Where can the ceremony and reception take place?

Options range from the intimate to the monumental: a casona courtyard for weddings under 50 guests, the Cathedral and viceregal churches for the religious ceremony, seventeenth-century bastions and historic haciendas such as Puerta Campeche or Uayamón for grand receptions, and the malecón for seaside sunset ceremonies. See the full guide to Campeche wedding venues.

How many guests can Casonas MX host?

A single house sleeps up to 10 guests; combining houses inside the walled city, up to 58 guests across 21 bedrooms, all minutes apart on foot. Each family gets a complete private home.

How is the wedding lodging quoted?

Per night and per house, from $150 USD (Narrativ lofts) to $650+ USD (Casa Japa). After receiving your form, we propose the block of houses and a tailored quote based on dates and group size.

Can foreigners have a civil ceremony?

Yes. Civil ceremonies inside the walled city are arranged through the local civil registry, and our coordination accompanies the paperwork alongside your wedding planner.

What is the best time of year for a Campeche wedding?

The dry season, from November to April, with clear skies and the best sunsets for open-air celebrations. The casonas' courtyards and covered spaces make it possible to celebrate year-round.
